AFTERLIFE RULES
- The afterlife rulers (the Sovereign Lord and Lady of Zion and Hades) are canon positions. They must be auditioned for and then the auditions are judged to determine who is the right fit for the position. If you earn this position, you MUST remain active or otherwise you will be at risk of losing your position to someone else!
- Those in the afterlife are dead but may be seen by the living at their discretion. They may still breed with the living but there is a 50% chance that it will not be successful. You may try again for one of these foals again in a week.
- Those in the afterlife can also breed with each other. There is a 60% chance this will not be successful. You may try again for one of these foals in a week also. Ghouls and cherubs breeding with living characters have a 70% chance of being successful. They may be bred again immediately if it is unsuccessful.
- All characters that want to reside in the afterlife must be judged before being accepted in Zion, Purgatory, or Hades. Purgatory cannot be requested as it is up to the whoever judges them as to if they fit Purgatory or not.
- This is self explanatory but the Sovereign Lord and Lady of Zion rule over those with good intentions and the Sovereign Lord and Lady of Hades rule over those will ill intentions. Purgatory is loosely ruled by all four rulers and is the eternal resting place for those who do not fit in either Zion or Hades or equally fit in both.
- The Sovereign Lords and Ladies of Zion and Hades can steal the souls of the living but cannot steal the souls of those already in the afterlife. If they want someone in the afterlife already, they must directly challenge for the character they want. If they win, there is a week waiting period before another challenge can be presented for the character's freedom.
- Any character in the afterlife can possess a living one with permission from the role player. Permission must come first!
- Only the Lords and Ladies may have horns, antlers, and/or wings. They do not have to have them but they are allowed to if the role player wishes.
- The rulers can offer their favor or blessing on any marked post for a battle or birthing.
- The rulers take care of the blessing/curse boards. They can also send out randomized blessings/curses to randomly chosen lands. This could be anything from birth defects, land challenge immunities, steal immunities, fires, flooding, a lush summer, a bad winter, twins, triplets, etc.
The afterlife will be explained in full detail below. These rules may be subject to change so please make sure you stay updated on any changes that happen! If you want more information on how the afterlife can be involved, please check out this thread here; Afterlife Involvement Explained. The afterlife is split into the following three realms. Zion, Purgatory, and Hades. There are various 'types' of afterlife statuses a character can be. There are the rulers, demons and angels and their individual ranks, ghosts, there are ghouls (Hades) and cherubs (Zion), and archangels (Zion) and knights (Hades). Those in Purgatory are simply referred to as a Walker. Not like a Tennessee Walking Horse but they have no defined place of being. They walk neither Zion or Hades. They simply are. The Sovereign Lord and Lady of Zion
This male and female pair rule Zion. Their power status is equal and one is not lesser than the other. They have authority of all of Zion and all of those in it. Their word is law and anyone who refuses to submit to them, which can be rare in Zion, faces the risk of being banished from Zion. They are omniscient, meaning that they know everything. They can read minds, they can see the future to some degree, they can control the elements especially those of the 'light' like lightning, sun, moon, water, and the wind, they can be seen and be heard by mortals, they can alter their appearance, they can perform miracles and heal others, and offer their blessing to mortals. They can breed with either mortal or immortal. The Sovereign Lord and Lady of Hades
This male and female pair rule Hades. Their power status is equal and one is not lesser than the other. They have authority of all of Zion and all of those in it. Their word is law and anyone who refuses to submit to them, which can happen often in Hades, faces the risk of being banished from Hades. They are omniscient, meaning that they know everything. They can read minds, they can see the future to some degree, they can control the elements especially those of the darker aspects like fire, earth, water, and telekinesis (being able to move objects with their mind), they can be seen and be heard by mortals, they can alter their appearance, they can perform miracles and heal others just like the rulers of Zion but they are less likely to do so unless it benefits them, and they can offer their blessing or curse to mortals. They can breed with either mortal or immortal. Archangels and Knights
Archangels and Knights are the products of when an afterlife leader breeds with either another afterlife leader or someone below them. If, for whatever reason, a Lord of Hades bred with a Lady of Zion, the foal would be considered an Arch-Knight. An Arch-Knight would be a combination of both parents' abilities but not to the fullest extent like a true Archangel or true Knight. An Archangel will have three powers from their holy parents and a Knight will have three powers from their vile parents. An Arch-Knight will have two, one from each. They may have horns, antlers, or wings but cannot alter their appearance (unless they are in a immortal vs. mortal battle). These powers will be selected at birth and cannot be altered. Archangels and Knights are marked by a particular symbol. These equines can scarcely be looked upon because of their unnatural beauty. Most cannot look into their gaze because of the amount of holiness or evil that is able to be seen within their eyes. Anyone who comes across an Archangel will feel incredibly safe while being overwhelmed with a sense of conviction for anything they have done that is condemned in Zion. If anyone comes upon a Knight, they will feel as if they are standing in front of Death himself. Some may fall physically ill or collapse just at the sight of a Knight or an Archangel. Archangels will have a very visible Celtic trinity symbol ( click) upon their body. If they are a bay or black, the symbol will be white. If they are gray or have paint markings and the symbol is in the white areas, the symbol will be their base coat color. Knights will have an inverted pentagram ( click) and it will be the same color variation as the trinity symbol. An Arch-Knight will have both upon opposite sides of their body. If the pentagram is on their right side, the trinity symbol will be on their left side. Ghouls and Cherubs
Ghouls and cherubs are the products of when an afterlife character breeds with a living character. Ghouls and cherubs possess no powers or any special appendages like horns or wings. They only receive an illness that cannot be cured but they will live unaffected by it. This illness is determined by the staff member doing the foal stats and regardless of what their illness is, they will have a visible marking that will look like a check mark ( click). It can show up anywhere on their body. If a ghoul or cherub breeds with a living character, the illness is transmissible to their breeding partner. It may or may not be a terminal illness to their partner (kind of like an STD). The product of a ghoul or cherub breeding with a living character is the same. They are just another ghoul or cherub with a transmissible disease to the living. If a ghoul or cherub were to breed with an afterlife ruler or a resident of the afterlife, it would produce a simple demon or angel with a transmissible disease to the living. The dead cannot be affected by the diseases/illnesses. Walkers
Those that are placed into Purgatory become Walkers. They may visit the mortal realms and the Garden of Eden but they cannot transcend into Zion or descend into Hades. They can only leave Purgatory if they complete a certain amount of IC tasks for one particular realm. In Purgatory, they cannot breed. They are, essentially, held in complete limbo. They cannot steal, cannot block steals, nor can they be stolen. They are subject to abuse and torture by any afterlife ruler. They may choose who they wish to follow but that particular realm is not entitled to acknowledging them. Once placed here, it is difficult to get out!
