Name: Vanth
Breed: Tennessee Walking Horse x Bavarian Warmblood x American Quarter Horse
Age: Six
Gender: Stallion
Alliance: Dark
Pelt Color: Blood bay minimal overo with reverse brindling
Mane and Tail colour: Black and white
Eye Color: Crimson
Markings: Minimal overo markings and bald face connected to a blaze and a snip
Height: 17hh
Personality: Vanth is the quiet and reserved type. He appears to be calm and collected most of the time, even during times of chaos and riots. But what's going on internally is more important. Internally, he is taking note of every little thing going on around him. Tones of voices, shifts in meetings and greetings, how different events intertwine with each other and complicate matters beyond repair, and of course the climatic scene toward the end of all things. But he doesn't review these things just for fun. It's always about how he can make things better for himself and for those around him. Also, be wary of when he is quiet. That generally means he is plotting someone's, perhaps your, demise.
The blood red painted beast is also a killer. Not the stereotypical "must kill everything" type though. He is very selective even though his list is incredibly long already. It stays long because he waits until the perfect time to bring down not just one, but multiple equines at once, whether that be through the art of murder or through blackmail and slander. He is the plotting and scheming kind but, he generally comes up with thorough and brilliant plans for the fall of his enemies.
The most vile and twisted of things does not phase him either. He emerged from a childhood bathed in gore and macabre so the delightful.. I mean traumatic scenes from the minds of the earth's finest and worst would not bother him. He is also a fan of deceit, thievery, greed, unrestrained lust, and the love of unmatched power. He craves power in all its forms. Some equines do not handle power well when they are granted it but Vanth has been in a powerful position before and did well with it. Despite being a lover of all of the previously mentioned things, he understands and implements them in moderation and as needed.
Vanth is a highly motivated and determined commander. After he has thoroughly plotted something, he carries through with his plans and only altering his plans if absolutely necessary. He is not out just for himself though. He is willing to bring others up to his level of importance in matters that only matter to them. Despite being inherently evil, he will do all he can to help someone else out --- as long as it's for the betterment of the name of evil itself. Do not be fooled though; he may be doom and gloom for everyone around him but he can be quite the gentleman when he chooses to be. He delivers respect when it is due and he can be polite and make diplomatic decisions with a pleasant tone.
An odd quality about Vanth is that he has always been interested in the afterlife and all of its aspects. The views of Hades and Zion influence his actions however, he does not follow a religion of any type. He simply chooses to do as he pleases and does it to please whichever side he wants. Generally speaking though, he favors Hades and if he had the opportunity, he personally wouldn't mind to take up the position of the Sovereign Lord of Hades either one day.
History: Vanth has not lived a very long life up to this point but, it has however been quite eventful. He was born in the late spring and was given every chance to be blessed with a glorious life. But someone had other plans, whether that person be Fate or someone from the after life or a mastermind he never met, and they shattered, crumbled, and all but destroyed his childhood. His mother was a mercenary and his sire was a mastermind -- the one he has modeled himself after to be honest. His sire had formed a loose translation of a harem filled with mercenaries, assassins, thieves, and hell bent warriors. All females. His sire was a feminist, if you will. Like the typical harem situation, if females were born, they grew up in the harem. If colts were born, they were kicked out at some youthful age. But of course, things were never truly that simple.
Off and on during the first two years of his life, a couple harem members disappeared without a single trace except for tracks that would eventually fade into unrecognizable terrain. It was a clue in and of itself though. Either they knew what they were doing or someone who knew what they were doing lured them away. But how could anyone lure two mass murders and an elite mercenary (that would happen to be his mother by the way) from the harem? It was a curious thing and it drove his sire absolutely mad for years. Vanth suspected that was the very reason his old man's brain pretty much exploded. Medically speaking, it was an aneurysm but hey, it had to be the result of something. The disappearance of the two mass murderers did not concern him very much but the disappearance of his mother did and still does. She had given birth to Vanth's younger brother, Vilkas, a few months before that. There had not been any changes in her mood or expressions. If anything, she had grown closer to Vanth and Vilkas in the last few months before she disappeared.
Vanth, being the odd philosopher and thoughtful one, found it to be almost as her goodbye. As if she knew she would not be around much longer and wanted them to have memories of her in good appearances and pleasant times. No one else, except his sire, saw it quite that way. Apparently before Vanth was born, his mother belonged to a rough group of mercenaries and she was considered a deserter by them for joining up with Vilix, his sire. But, if she went back to the group of mercenaries, she would then be seen as a traitor to the harem. So she stayed up until Vanth was two, Vilkas was just a weanling. With his sire's right hand lady gone and no one suitable for her place, Vanth was elected to be the second in command.
Vanth's new responsibilities as a two year old were to devise a recruitment plan for younger equines, come up with a realistic plan for improved security, how to weed out traitors blending in with the harem, how to handle matters within the herd more diplomatically, and how to ensure that their lands were safe from threats. It didn't take very long for the blood red and ivory stained colt to come up with some brilliant ideas. As he grew older, he took on more military and governor duties. Even as second in command, he wanted more and more. His sire was hesitant to let him handle so much at a time but the more Vanth pressed for it, the more he was given. Eventually, a little pass the age of three and a half, the only thing keeping his sire as ruler was the simple title of being the ruler. At that point, Vanth was doing everything and absolutely loved it. Even in the hard times, he loved it. Even when a neighboring harem tried to invade their space and attempted to steal a few fillies from them --- Vanth was ready to take charge and do what needed to be done. He took his fillies back AND six of their mares. Well..what? They tried to steal his lovely ladies! It was perfectly not justifiable. Either way, the neighboring harem realized that he was not one to be messed with, which was all they needed to know. Until the winter came.
On a frigid night, a sudden snow storm clashed with their land and in the night, six of their members disappeared. Whether they got lost or separated or abducted, he was never sure. All of these members were high ranked officials too. This left his harem scrambling to keep the state of order together even with just him as a king. Well, prince really. Vilix still had yet to die at this point. The summer came and it was a blazing hot one. Fires started almost instantaneously and it ravaged everything in sight. It even robbed him of four older members. This whittled his herd down to three other members, not including his baby brother Vilkas.
For the last two years, Vanth has spent his time rebuilding his harem and trying to return the harem's name to its former glory. Every few months, something else would happen and it would be returned to nothing again. But now, Vilkas was determined to take the throne before Vanth even had a chance. The only thing that stood in their way was Vilix. So they held a death match, much to Vanth's distaste. Even as vile and vicious as he was, he had no intention of slaughtering his father. But, he would if it meant he could take the crown. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do, in order to get the things you want. Vilkas fought Vanth first and then Vilix but did not win against either. Vanth then faced his leader, war commander, best friend, and most of all, his father, and killed him. It wasn't his first victim, no, but the emotional trauma was enough to make him want to shut his emotions off completely and disappear from the face of the earth. But Vilkas wasn't pleased with this and demanded a second fight. Upon the end Vanth's third fight of the day, it became clear that he would not be the victor. He finished the battle and let his brother take the spoils of the small harem. Vanth then departed from him and his home before arriving here.
