Personality: Though he is only two and a half years old, Ealdaen, or Daen as he calls himself carries himself with an air of regality, pride and yes, even a bit of royalty. Some might even call him spoiled, and yes, he is a little bit spoiled. Daen is sweet, kind, caring, protective, playful, loyal and trustworthy. But even with these traits though, Daen can be very mean spirited and violent. Only made worse by the fact that he is completely deaf. He's attempting to teach himself how to better read lips as he's only just recently lost his hearing. He wants to be able to have a solid conversation. Daen's also filled with a near boundless energy, so don't be surprised if he comes across you in the middle of the night and nudges you saying c'mon, let's go play! Or coming across you in a mood and saying, bring it! I've been bruising for a fight. He can be a little bit silly sometimes too, but this is on a very rare occasion. Daen can also be a bit of a flirt when he wants to be. He wants to find a partner and he wants to have a family, but as he can be a bit picky of who he gets close to, whether they be a male or a female, it'll be a while yet before he settles down permanently. Content instead to be flirtatious and have as many as he can until that one special someone steps into his world.
History: It was late in the spring when Ealdaen was brought into the world. His dam was a beautiful, highly prized palomino tobiano American Paint horse, his sire was a beautiful, dapple gray Arabian with a bay base coat and he wasn't nearly as prized as Daen's dam. However though, the pair did not care about being prized or not or anything of the sort, they just knew that they loved each other and so in the dead of the night, the pair took off together, they were going to have a good time and build their family without being commanded by other outside parties. The pair ran from their stalls and pastures out to the wilds where they had never been before. They had to try and draw on old traits that were hidden deep in their being. Ealdaen had it a little easier that his parents though as he was born wild. He actually became the one that would help his parents survive in their new wild world.
He watched as he was growing up, how the wild horses survived, how they found food, how they found water, how they fought off dangers, how they played, how they protected one another, and then when he returned again, he'd share the information with his family and they became successful, they even became one of the most popular wild herds. His parents were very kind and just rulers after they had learned what they could from their colt. Ealdaen was proud of himself. And that was when he began to get spoiled and learned to carry himself like royalty. He became a sort of celebrity amongst his group of young friends and it makes him all the more spoiled. He played and taught and learned all he wanted too, he was being groomed to rule the herd after his parents passed. But when he turned two, Daen was separated from his family during one of his nightly adventures and then, he then realized that he was losing his hearing, and now at two and a half he's fully deaf but is an avid lip reader. He just needs someone that can be patient with him and have a family.
