Personality: Indura Luin is a very kind soul. She's sweet, caring, loyal, trustworthy, and protective. She's very good at keeping secrets unless she is told otherwise. She's got a huge heart and it is full of love. Though she refers to herself as a Light, she secretly opposes the idea of Alliances. She feels that every equine should be allowed to be friends with whomever they wish and that they should not be divided by Alliance Lines. She's playful, and a free spirit, despite her years and the numerous scars upon her bodice. She can often be found running in the wilds, racing with the other equines, young and old alike, or racing the wind. Indura Luin is also an Insomniac, she sleeps in fits.
You could never tell that she was an Insomniac, because her eyes are always bright and filled with a playful light. When the moon is full, that is when Indura feels most alive, hence the meaning of her name, her pale coat with reflect back the light of the moon and it is almost as if her eyes have captured the moon and stars in them. On those nights she will wander aimlessly, almost as if she doesn't know where she is headed and she allows her feet to take her where they will. And really, she doesn't know where she's going and she doesn't know why, she just...does. She wants to have a family, to fall in love with someone, and have someone that can handle her Insomnia and can let her go wandering, either following her or not, and someone she can protect and who will protect her back. Anyone willing to give her a shot?
History: It was early in the Spring, almost directly after the thaw that Indura Luin was born. The moon was full that night, hence Indura's name, and the pale Perlino Akhal-Teke mare made her way into the white birch clearing close to the boundaries of her herdlands. She wanted to be alone for this, but she knew her buckskin Tobiano mate wouldn't be too far behind her, he had been waiting for this moment as long as the Akhal-Teke mare had been. The thought made her smile as she lay down and she felt the stabbing pains as her unborn child started toward its meeting with this world.
With a smile the mare started to do what she was supposed to do, and about a quarter of the way through the procedure, she heard the sounds of an approach and she lifted her pale sapphire gaze to meet that of her mate as he came up beside her and looked her over. "Are you okay my love?" He asked as he nuzzled her as she lay her head back down and through gritted teeth responded, "Yes. Our little one is a feisty thing though mi'lord." She managed a half chuckle at that and the buckskin Tobiano smirked as he looked back at her rump. Soon, the pair was greeting a beautiful little pale Perlino Tobiano filly. She had her mother's and father's pale sapphire blue eyes, her mother's pale Perlino coat and her father's patterning.
The mare lay on the ground for a couple of minutes longer, catching her stolen breath again before rising slowly to her feet and going to groom her filly clean. As she finished she looked up at the moon and stars visible through the roof of the clearing and then back down at her filly who's coat gleamed with the silvery glow of the moon and her eyes sparkled with the captured sheet of stars. Smiling the mare looked at her mate as the filly started to rise to her own feet, and attempted to nuzzle her way to her mother's milk. The pretty filly only fell down twice before successfully succeeding in gaining and keeping her feet and finding her way successfully to the life giving milk of her mother. As the filly nursed the mare lipped gently at her mane and then turned to her mate and nuzzled him as she lipped at the corner of his mouth.
"What are you going to call her my love?" The stallion asked as he lipped gently at his mate's muzzle and then at their filly's mane as well as he locked pale sapphire gazes with his mate. "Indura Luin. Mirror of the Moon." The mare murmured softly as the hunter again lipped at his mate's muzzle. "It's perfect. Indura Luin." He said with a smile as the new family rested beneath the gleaming moonlight with their own Mirror of the Moon. As the next day dawned the new family made their way back into the herdlands to a chorus of cheers and congratulations from their herd members. Indura, not quite sure of all the ruckus stayed pressed close to her mother's side.
As she grew up, Indura observed her family and their interactions trying to make sure she did all that her parents did, meaning to carry on their legacy even outside of the herdlands. She learned to be a lady, she learned how to play, how to be respected and to return that respect and how to keep her coat perfect and how to be trustworthy and loyal. At three, Indura bade a sad good-bye to her family as she was itching to visit the world outside of home, find a new place to plant her own roots. On her adventures, she joined other rogue herds, had flings, and moved on. And she realized that on the nights of the full moon she could travel longer and she felt more alive. It was on a full moon night, that Indura found her way to Frag and it is here she remains, the beauty dragging and keeping her attention here. And Indura Luin knew that she was actually home once again.
