Fragmentation has several canons that are an anchoring element and that can play an influential role in the site. The canons' activity is key in the site moving forward and if a canon grows inactive or is not showing enough progress into their role, the current canon holder may lose their position so activity must be their highest priority! You can have two canon positions at a time. Right now, our canons are held to a basis of one post every 20 days. That means that if you have a canon, you need to make at least one full post (no 'work in progress' posts allowed) every 20 days. If it is noted that you are consecutively only doing one post every 20 days, without justifiable cause, you may be asked to post more often or you may be asked to consider dropping the position. There is a check-in system that will be used in order for your activity to be tracked. It is up to you to keep this updated as it is your canon position and it is not the staff's job to check up on your activity for you. These check-in areas will be a locked thread in the canon's respective land/board. If there is not a designated land or board for that canon, there will be a check-in thread in a predetermined area. CANON POSITIONS
I. The Royals
The main purpose of the Royals is to promote peace and to solve disputes, conflicts, etc, by whatever means necessary. They can accept or decline land claims if they think the claiming character is a good fit or not for owning a land. They can also take lands away from characters ( this must be cleared with a staff member first). The Royals create the laws and define the punishments for those who violate those laws. The Royal King - The Royal King oversees all alliances and all lands. If there is a dispute that cannot be sorted out, the matter can be brought before the Royal King to be diplomatically discussed. If someone wishes to claim a land, they can ask the Royals for permission to claim it. The Royal King is equal to the Royal Queen in power. The Royal King can be of any alliance. The Afterlife canons are in charge of Zion, Purgatory, and Hades. Characters that have passed on can be sent to the Styx River (under the Garden of Eden) to be judged using the form in it. Judgement can only take place if the form provided is used and the IC thread with the character, the Patron of Judgement, and an afterlife ruler is completed. The afterlife can participate in blessings and curses, steal souls, can participate in battles against mortals and other immortals, can offer blessings on battles and births, and tax lands for souls and/or pledges. This list of involvement is further explained in the link. The Afterlife also produce the Originals. Three for Utopia and three for Hades. Any Original Hybrids that come about have been created by the Afterlife as well. Sovereign Lord and Lady of Zion - The Lord and Lady of Zion rule Fragmentation's equivalent of Heaven or Utopia. They preside over those who have been judged with a good soul, or lived with good intentions, or young children that know only goodness. The Lord and Lady of Zion can give out blessings and can perform miracles. They also rule over those in Purgatory but do not have to claim responsibility to them. The Patron of Judgement - The Patron of Judgement resides in the River Styx and can not leave unless temporarily released by an afterlife ruler. He is equally ruled over by all four rulers of the afterlife. In order for an equine to be judged, they must meet with the Patron of Judgement first. The Patron will lead them to the center of the River Styx where the water is being pulled in opposite directions, one direction flowing towards Zion and the other, Hades. Then the Patron will ask for an afterlife ruler to judge the character in an in character post. Once the judgement has passed over them, the Patron will lead them to whatever realm they are being sent to for eternity. If you have purchased the 'Guaranteed Judgement' item from the store, please include a link to that purchase in this thread. If you have the 'Guaranteed Judgement' item, then the Patron will continue on to take your character to their chosen realm. Sovereign Lord and Lady of Hades - The Lord and Lady of Hades rule Fragmentation's equivalent of Hell or the Underworld. They preside over those who have been judged with a malevolent soul, or lived with malicious intentions, or children that understand wrong from right. The Lord and Lady of Hades can give out curses and can perform miracles. They also rule over those in Purgatory but do not have to claim responsibility to them. III. The Commonwealth
The Geheimnis - The Geheimnis is a secret group that believes that are superior to the other alliances. They do not respect the Royals and their ultimate goal is to overthrow the Royals so that the Geheimnis can rule over the lands. The leader of the Geheimnis holds their headquarters in their land and only the highest ranked officials can live in that land. The lower ranked members must live in other lands. Their entire group is based upon secrecy. They are not allowed to tell anyone that they are part of the group. The Geheimnis do not participate in alliances. If you want them to help you, you must either join the society or give up a child for their cause. All members of the Geheimnis start at the bottom and work their way up through the ranks in IC. If an equine is kicked out of the group, they are not allowed to return or be accepted back into the group no matter what they do. If an equine breaks the Geheimnis' laws, they will be held accountable and their punishment cannot exceed a near-fatality nor any form of punishment that is longer than six months in real time. Twice a month, all members of the Geheimnis must report to the leader and the second in command with their assigned tasks. If the leader of the Geheimnis falls inactive or quits, the second in command is the only one that can replace them. (The idea for the Geheimnis was created by fleabittengray)
